Oracle Expenses
Lead Designer, Oracle, 2022 to present
Getting a product out of a lengthy iterative design cycle and into the hands of real people to test and finalize before public launch is never any easy thing. Leveraging my experience with our design system, I led the effort to bring this product back on track, resolve design debt, and work across teams to finalize a product vision and a roadmap to get there. An increased technical focus, improved documentation, and closer collaboration with essential teams to streamline design and business processes were all critical to bringing the product to real users on a timeline that meets executive needs and anticipates the adoption of upcoming technical innovations.
What if your expenses were done for you?
For more than four years the business had been working to deliver a vision for a “touchless”experience targeted for mobile users with an integrated corporate card. Automation handles most of the work, while exceptions are resolved using a simplified “concierge” style design.
The challenge
For a variety of reasons, the work stretched out far longer than planned. Multiple designers came and went, each swinging for the fences, yet none truly connecting. Consequently, the design that ultimately moved forward had lost a lot of the magic initially envisioned.
